As a proud local of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, I was raised in this community and have a deep appreciation for the people and culture that make this area special. Growing up here has given me strong roots, a strong work ethic, and a genuine understanding of the local community.

As a Front Desk Chiropractic Assistant, I am committed to creating a welcoming and organized environment for every patient who walks through the door. I take pride in providing excellent customer service, managing daily front desk responsibilities efficiently, and helping ensure a smooth and positive experience for both patients and staff.

Hi, I’m Lauren! I’m originally from Connecticut and recently moved to South Carolina. I attended Paul Smith’s College in Upstate New York and am excited to be working at the Front Desk. Outside of work, I enjoy going to the beach, exploring new places around the area, and spending time with my cat, Moe, who is my pride and joy. I’m also a lover of all plants and enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

Caden Pacheco

Hello! My name is Caden, and my role here is a Therapy Chiropractic Assistant at Grand Strand Health & Wellness. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and have lived in the Grand Strand since 2016, where I’ve continued to grow my passion for movement, performance, and overall wellness.

I played sports throughout high school part of college and later graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science with a Pre-Physical Therapy focus. During my time at Syracuse University, I had the opportunity to work with Division I athletes, which deepened my appreciation for athletic performance, injury prevention, and recovery-based care. I am also proud to serve in the military, which has shaped my disciplined, team-oriented, and patient-first approach.

I especially enjoy helping patients move better, recover stronger, and build confidence in their bodies, while becoming their happiest and healthiest version of themselves. At Grand Strand Health & Wellness, my goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment while combining therapeutic care and strength-based training to help each patient reach their health and performance goals. In my free time, you can usually find me golfing, at the beach, working out, running, or working within youth sports  around the community. I’m excited to meet you all and be a part of your wellness journey!

Ashley Shook

Hello! My name is Ashley, and I am so excited to be joining the team as your new Wellness Coach for SwiftSlim. 

I am originally from Upstate New York, but moved to South Carolina to attend Coastal Carolina University. In December 2024, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science. My passion for health and wellness stems from my lifelong love for sports. As a former multi-sport athlete, I’ve seen firsthand how living an active and healthy lifestyle can transform not just your body, but your mind and spirit, too. 

I also know the challenges that come with weight loss – and that’s why I’m here. My mission is to help you lose unwanted weight, build confidence, and become the healthiest version of yourself.

I can’t wait to support you on your journey and hope to see you soon!

Health & Wellness! My husband and I recently moved to Myrtle Beach from Charlotte, NC and I
absolutely love the beach life!! I am a loving Wife and Mom to 3 of the best adult children ever,

Tim Hubbard

Hi, my name is Tim, and I’m excited to join the Grand Strand Health and Wellness team as your RTCA ( Rehab Therapy Chiropractic Assistant).  I’m 25 years old and I’m originally from Oswego, New York. I grew up playing basketball and baseball. I played basketball at Oswego High School. During my time playing basketball, I sprained my ankle many times,leading to me having to go through rehab for it, which helped teach me how much really goes into rehabbing all different injuries.  

After high school, I attended Suny Oswego University, where I got a bachelor’s degree in health science. This helped me learn more about the body and helped lead me to my passion for helping people. Growing up, I always came down here on vacation, so after I graduated from college, I decided to move down here and explore all the new opportunities that came my way since I moved here. Before I started working here, I was a personal trainer at Crunch Fitness in Myrtle Beach, where I helped push people to reach their fitness goals, along with giving them nutrition advice. I also worked at Stretch Zone in North Myrtle Beach, where I was a stretch practitioner and took clients through assisted stretching. I saw many different clients with hip or knee replacements, back issues, and sciatica etc. 

Over my time working there, my greatest accomplishment was seeing how much we improved all of our clients’ quality of life. I’m excited to use my experience and knowledge to help the patients at Grand Strand Health and Wellness achieve a happy, pain-free life with optimal body function as the goal.  

Cindy Ard

Position: Office Manager / Patient Educator
Location: Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Hello and welcome!! My name is Cindy Ard. I am the Patient Educator and Office Manager here at Grand Strand Health and Wellness. I have been on staff since January 31, 2014. It is my pleasure, honor and delight to share information with our patients regarding how we can help them have happier and healthier lives. Martin Rooney quoted – “You were not given talents to impress people. You were given those gifts to help people.” It is my hope we will have the opportunity to see how we may help you.

A little about me: I was born and have lived my life in South Carolina, within a 2 hour radius of Murrells Inlet. I spent two years in Charlotte, NC as a young adult and loved it yet the beach is where my soul is happy. I graduated high school in the top of my class. After some years of finance and medical field work, I decided to return to school at Horry Georgetown Technical College. My goal was to become a cognitive behavioral therapist so I might help families and especially children have happier and healthier lives.

January 2013, 1 year before arriving at Grand Strand Health and Wellness, I was 224 pounds, size 22 elastic waist pants and 3X shirt. Diabetes and heart disease runs in my family. As I mentioned God had blessed with me a precious son and on that grand day in my kitchen, it dawned me I was going to die prematurely from health issues if I did not get my weight and eating in check. That day my heart cracked open and my life began to change. The next day I called my chiropractor (as I had one intermittently for 20 years) because I knew if I was really going to do something different, I had to get in touch with my body and stop dragging it around like a wet load of laundry. Chiropractic does that for me. It helps me own (take responsibility for) my body. The rest of the story is history. 80 pounds and 100 inches lost in 10 months that I continue to maintain for past four years. If you ever have questions or need support staying mindful of your nutrition and exercise, it will be my pleasure to chat with you.

Your life and my life is a gift given with the intention of being lived to the highest and fullest. As we say at the gym, come on…LET’S DO THIS THING !!!!!!

Beatrina Keel

Position: Therapy Chiropractic Assistant
Location: Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Hi, My name is Beatrina Keel. I’m 29 years old. I was born in Germany; which makes me a “military brat”. After my parents retired, we moved to Longs, SC where I was raised. From an early age I knew I wanted to help people. After graduating high school in 2005, I enrolled at the College of Charleston where I received my BS in Physical Education with a concentration of Exercise Science in 2009. After graduation I entered the work world and I also got other certificates that I was proud of: CNA, CPR, Medication Aide; to name a few.

I started working for GSHW in March 2017. Working for this company really helped me live out one of my life mottos: “If you love what you do, you won’t ever work a day in your life.” I get immense satisfaction if I can at least bring joy to one person I encounter throughout my day to day routine. One thing I love about our team is how versatile we all are and that we are more than willing to jump in to help each other and better serve our patients. As far as the patients I admire their willingness to learn about their condition and the persistence to not give up when the road doesn’t “appear to be as easy”. I absolutely love that I have a boss that appreciates my special talents and is willing to push me and the rest of the team to be at our best at all times. I couldn’t ask for a better mission because it embodies what the founder and his team believe and try to impart onto our patients. I have a six year old Llhasa terrier mix by the name of Tootie that I received as a rescue. One personal “tidbit” about me that some might not know is my attention to detail, how I have a mind full of random information, and my love to travel and food. One thing you can’t miss is my infectious laugh!

John Brown

Position: Human Resource Coordinator

Hi All!  I am excited to join the Grand Strand Health and Wellness Family.  I am a South Carolina native from Manning, SC.  I’ve been living in the Grand Strand for just over 20 years. Dating back to 2001 when I began my college career at Coastal Carolina University.  There I earned my Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.  I also met my wonderful wife, Ashley, while I attended CCU.  Ashley and I are the parents of 3 amazing children, Andrew, Karter, and Kosa (Jax).  I have held many titles in my working career with a number of them in some type of a Human Resources role.  As the Human Resources Coordinator for Grand Strand Health and Wellness, I look forward to helping grow this organization in an effort to change as many lives as possible!  Thank you for such a warm welcome to the Grand Strand Health and Wellness Family!

Alisa Demirovic

Hi there! My name is Alisa Demirovic and I am 22 years old. I am a Charlotte NC native, but the beach will always have a special place in my heart!  My family is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, making me the first born generation in the United States. I am a recent graduate of Coastal Carolina University, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Marketing. I am so grateful to work with such a talented team of doctors and colleagues here at GS Health & Wellness. Our team is dedicated to helping others live a happier and healthier life so I’m proud to be a part of that. A couple of my hobbies outside of work include playing volleyball, going surfing at the beach, and spending quality time with my dog because she is my best friend! I hope I get the opportunity to help you sometime in the future!

With the addition of our family dog one year later, we have fallen in love with the coastal life. The Grand Strand is now and forever our home. Upon completing his internship at Mussachio Chiropractic in Charlotte, Dr. Garner served at Popwell-Scota Spine Center in Greenville and Carolina Chiropractic Plus in Shelby, NC where he was Associate Clinic Director. 

He has provided over One Hundred thousand (100,000) adjustments while serving over 6,000 patients.

From Coal to Chiropractic

Growing up a rambunctious country boy in the small town of Gilbert, nestled deep in the coal fields of southern West Virginia, I’ve had my share of bumps and bruises. I was active in contact sports like football and boxing. I raced motocross, and I’ve always been an avid golfer. I’ve been involved in multiple wrecks on ATVs and dirt bikes, and I’ve even been thrown from the bed of a pickup truck after being t-boned by another vehicle. I’ve suffered multiple concussions, contusions, scrapes, and bruises, not to mention a compound fracture to my lower right leg from the accident where I was ejected from the truck bed.

I was an All-Area, All-Conference, starting Center for the 1995 WVSSAC State Football Champion Gilbert Lions (the only State Championship in any sport throughout the history of Gilbert High School until they were consolidated in the early 2000’s), and I still wear my Championship ring to this day. I won the Lowell Phipps award that year for the athlete who exhibited the most ‘heart and determination,’ and as you can see, I’m still pretty proud of those accomplishments 30 years later. I grew up with my brother Mark Chastain, who is four years older than me, so he pretty much taught me how to be tough and resilient. Our parents, Mark and Linda Cline, raised us with lots of love, and they taught us how to be happy and successful through hard work, grit, and to never quit anything that we set out to accomplish, no matter how hard or impossible that it may seem to be.

The biggest lesson that they taught us was the value of family and spending as much time with them as you possibly can. My father was a coal miner who worked all day underground to make a living, while my mom was a homemaker who stayed home and raised my brother and me. She always kept a beautiful home and always had some of the greatest home-cooked meals for us and my father to come home to after a long, hard day underground. I always believed throughout my entire childhood that I would be a Coal Miner just like my father, and his father before him. I am now the father of two wonderful children, which is the greatest accomplishment of my entire life. My daughter Jeanna is 26 years old and a graduate from Furman University, and she is currently pursuing her master’s degree. My son Jacob is 17, and once he graduates from Dillon Christian School in the spring, he will be attending North Greenville to pursue his Bachelor of Science Degree.

Now I’m going to explain the reasoning behind why I became a Doctor of Chiropractic. I was in my third year at Marshall University, working toward my Bachelor of Science Degree, and I was constantly having headaches. Nothing seemed to totally get rid of the headaches, so I just figured that it was normal since I’d had so many concussions and whiplashes over the years, and I would just have to deal with it for the rest of my life. Fast forward to Thanksgiving break 1998. My brother Mark was getting ready to graduate from Logan College of Chiropractic in the spring, and he made the long trip from St. Louis, Missouri, to moms for Thanksgiving dinner. I made the

short trip from Huntington to enjoy some turkey and dressing as well, and like always, I had a terrible headache. As we sat around the table talking about our future plans and how life was going so far, my brother noticed that I could hardly keep my eyes open and that I wasn’t feeling well. He asked, “Do you have a headache?”, so I replied, “Yeah, I have them all the time”. He then asked me to follow him into the living room and proceeded to tell me that he was going to get rid of my headache. I had no clue about Chiropractic at the time, so I thought to myself, “he’s going to be a back doctor, not a head doctor, so what in the world is he going to try to do?”

He had me lay down and started messing with my neck when I heard a loud snap when he turned my head. It scared me, and I was ready to get up and leave when he said, “Calm down, I’m not finished.” He then turned my head the other way, and it cracked again. Stunned, I immediately stood up and said, “Are you trying to kill me?” He snickered in true big brother fashion and asked, “Where’s your headache?” I gathered my thoughts and noticed that my head didn’t hurt anymore, so I muttered, “It’s gone”. After that adjustment to my upper neck, I was headache-free for a solid week. This was totally miraculous in my eyes because it had been a couple of years since I hadn’t had a headache at least every other day. I started getting adjusted regularly by a doctor that my brother knew in Huntington, and I finally started to realize that I wanted to be a doctor who could help people in the way that I was being helped.

I was totally undecided on the path that I was going to take with my education up until that point, and once the summer semester started in May of 1999, I was living in St. Louis, Missouri, and enrolled at Logan College of Chiropractic. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Human Biology in September 2000, and I graduated with my Doctor of Chiropractic in December 2002. I worked at Cline Chiropractic for my brother in our hometown for four years after I graduated, then I moved to Dillon, South Carolina, and ran my own clinic (Advantage Health Center of Dillon) along with a satellite clinic in Aynor, South Carolina (Advantage Health Center of Aynor) for eighteen years. I went on to help a good friend of mine in Bennettsville, South Carolina, with his practice (Palmetto Health and Wellness) for six months, and now I feel like I’m finally home at one of the best-run Chiropractic clinics that I’ve ever been blessed to be a part of in Grand Strand Health and Wellness. Dr. Garner and the rest of the team are the nicest and most well-trained colleagues that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with throughout my entire career of twenty-four years. I genuinely feel like God led me here to Murrells Inlet to fulfill my calling in life and do what I was born to do, which is to help people live happier and healthier lives through Chiropractic. That one adjustment changed my life forever, and now I am blessed with the knowledge and skills to help change other people’s lives, one spine at a time.
